A Stress-Free Guide to Traveling to Tenerife, Spain with a Baby on an All-Inclusive Family Vacation

Includes a FREE downloadable Baby Travel Checklist at the end of the post!

They say traveling with a baby is just taking care of a baby in another location—but for me, it’s so much more than that. It’s a chance to step away from the endless cycle of cooking, cleaning, and doing laundry at home. Honestly, I can’t sit still when I’m home—I’m always thinking about what needs to be done. That’s why going on a holiday feels like a real break for me.

This was actually my baby’s second trip, and we spent it in Tenerife, Spain during Easter. If you're a parent looking for ideas or reassurance about traveling with a baby, I hope this post shows you that it is possible to relax and enjoy—especially when you pick the right destination and travel style.

How Travel Changed for Us After Having a Baby

Before becoming a parent, I traveled a lot—and most of it was DIY. I planned every itinerary, filled our days with activities, and didn’t mind the hectic pace. But once I had a baby, everything changed. I wanted our travels to be more relaxed and baby-friendly, with plenty of downtime.

So for this trip, my husband and I booked an all-inclusive tour to Tenerife with TUI, which included flights, hotel, and meals. We stayed in a family-friendly resort with everything we needed: baby pools, kids’ entertainment, shows, and most importantly, relaxing spaces for parents. It took a lot of pressure off me because I didn’t need to plan every detail—we could just go with the flow.

Rocky coastline with blue ocean, buildings, and palm trees in the background under a clear sky. Waves crash against the rocks.

Why Tenerife? Why Easter?

We had never been to Tenerife, but I’d seen it all over social media—beautiful weather, scenic beaches, and relaxed vibes. Easter turned out to be the perfect time to go. It wasn’t packed with tourists, and the weather was ideal for a baby: 16–20°C, a bit chilly and breezy, but mostly sunny.

Tip: Bring a jacket, suncream, and sunglasses—the island is sunny, even if it’s not hot.

Where We Stayed: Hotel Riu Palace Tenerife

We stayed at Hotel Riu Palace Tenerife, and it exceeded our expectations—especially when we saw our ocean-view room!

What we loved:

  • Smooth check-in and super friendly staff

  • A range of swimming pools for babies, kids, teens, and adults

  • All-inclusive access to restaurants, bars, and snacks—no extra charges

  • Daily room cleaning (yes to no chores!)

  • Free use of baby crib, baby bathtub, and pool towels

  • A kettle and mini fridge in the room (perfect for baby milk and snacks)

  • A warm baby pool and easy access to high chairs in all restaurants

The hotel is located in a quiet area away from the crowds, with a beautiful walking boulevard by the sea—perfect for stroller walks. It was peaceful, clean, and relaxing. There were even outdoor workout areas, shops, and restaurants nearby.

Exploring Tenerife with a Baby

We rented a car through Top Car and added a car seat. The pickup process was a bit long, but manageable. If you're planning to explore the island, a car is definitely helpful.

Places we visited:

  • Los Gigantes – Stunning cliffs, only a short drive from the hotel.

  • Buenavista del Norte – Gorgeous mountain views, but take note: the road is narrow and winding.

Near the hotel, we also found a shopping mall with a grocery and pharmacy, which made it easy to grab essentials for the baby.

A Word on Travel Insurance

I can’t stress this enough: get good travel insurance. Our baby got sick during the trip, and thankfully, we had insurance that covered everything. We were referred to a local hospital and didn’t have to pay a single euro. It made a huge difference in our peace of mind.

Final Thoughts: Traveling to Spain with a Baby Is Worth It

Taking a baby on holiday doesn’t have to be stressful. In fact, it can be one of the most rewarding and restful experiences, especially if you let go of the idea of doing it all.

This trip to Tenerife was the perfect balance of baby fun and parent relaxation. One of the biggest helps was traveling with my parents-in-law. Having them with us meant we could get a bit of time off—whether it was enjoying a quiet coffee, taking a walk alone, or just having an extra pair of hands when things got hectic. If you have family who are willing to travel with you, say yes! It makes such a difference.

If you're a parent looking for a baby-friendly destination in Spain, I highly recommend Tenerife—especially in spring.
