We ended our Ilocos Norte tour in Pagudpud where we spent the night. If you look at the Philippine map, Pagudpud is located at the very tip of Luzon. The beach was hidden behind the hills with houses built below it. We went there on the last week of November. It was cold, rainy and windy.
We stayed in Kapuluan Vista Resort. It is far from the white sand beach, far from the restaurants, far from the crowd. We would have fully enjoyed the place if not only for the cold weather. We couldn’t stand a few minutes staying outside of the resort. If you’re a health-conscious person, you’ll love it there because they serve organic food which they grow in their garden inside the resort.
Another popular resort here is Hannah’s Beach Resort which is located right in front of the white sand beach. The only karaoke bar around the area is owned by this resort.
It gets really quiet at night. No disco bars or anything. The streets are barely visible. Only a few street lights are installed. There’s nothing much to do outside at night.
The next morning, we were greeted with still a very cold weather. We woke up at 6am to get ready for our very first SURFING LESSONS!!! Our surfing instructors were provided by our resort.
It was pretty easy practicing on how to stand on the board while on the sand. But once I got to the water, I could no longer follow the instructions taught to us a few minutes ago… hahaha. Panic overruled. I almost gave up when I couldn’t manage to surf while others have successfully surf the waves a couple of times. But my instructor encouraged me to never give up. He even offered an extension for my surfing lessons for free! And finally, for once, I made it!
This marks the day of more surfing adventures. See you in Siargao and Baler!
